Jonathan edged in, bare feet making no noise on the floor. He looked torn. "Papa, can I hug you?" he whispered.

Jo sat in her room, hoping that Owen would text her or call her or something. She knew that she got mad at him, but she was too afraid that he would reject the call if she tried to reach out to him.

Tom sat outside Jo's door. He put his hand on the door and sent an illusion through, iridescent butterflies appearing to flutter through the door into Jo's room.

Jo watched the butterflies and although she normally would have loved it, she couldn't even get a smile out.

Jo sighed softly and looked at her laptop. She leaned over and grabbed it. She opened it up and glanced at Plato. She patted the spot beside her, inviting him up if he wanted to.
