They get to Killian's apartment and Killian helps Jenna into the room. "You and the kids can stay in the guest room and I pulled out an air mattress on the floor in there for the kids to sleep in."

Sierra nodded "thanks. I might try and take a nap if Ryan feels like one" she ruffled Killian's hair and took Ryan to the guest room

Killian smiles. "I wont be long. call if anything happens otherwise Sea will be here to help." he says then takes Makenzie to the book/ coffee shop.

Mackenzie ran into the store the moment they arrived and went for the fantasy books

Killian sighs, "Remember that friend that you used to have when you were little, then as you got older the 2 of you just drifted apart? Well that can happen with mommies and daddies too. Its nothing more than we both just wanted different things. We were just a little bit older than you when we first met. At the time we had loads in common, but when it came down to it in the end we wanted different things, and neither of us were happy with each other. Believe me kiddo. The last thing I wanted to do was to leave you and your brother, but your mom and I are happier as just friends. You know that phrase 'like oil an water?'" He says trying to put this all into a context that she would understand.

Mackenzie blinked at him as her six year old kind tried to make sense of what he was saying "she made you leave us.... I don't like her."

Killian shakes his head, "Lets put it this way. It would be like if you mixed 2 things together like chocolate and pizza. On their own they taste great. But mix the two together and while you might be able to stomach it you take 2 great things and make them, just ok. Jenna is like the hardy salad to my pizza. Not over powering but instead works with the pizza to make a balanced meal. Chocolate and pizza however, aren't combatable. Does that help?"

Killian shakes his head, "Not at all pumpkin. Your mom and I...our relationship is complicated. But that doesn't mean that we don't still care about each other. And You and your brother will still be the most important things in my life."
