"Then you have to come out from under the stairs." Jo said, making sure to keep the chocolate just out of the child's reach, just in case he got any ideas.

"Okay. I guess David is going to get all the chocolate because he's listening to Daddy." Jo said, looking at the younger twin who had calmed down and was ready to talk to his brother.

Ben set David near Tom and went over to the cupboard. "Jonathan. If you don't come out, I'm going to have to condo scare your new shoes."

"Please? For daddy?" Ben begged. The sound of his sons sniffles was breaking his heart. "Come out and talk to Daddy."

Suddenly the door swung open and Jonathan shot out, clinging to Ben like a limpet.

Ben took the boy in his arms and shooed everyone else away. "It's alright." he said softly, stroking the boy's hair.
