Kora chuckels, "Oh I don't know. Maybe because my job. And that a Jugde dateing someone 4 years younger than myself would give them all the freedom to fire me."

"You are missing the point. If I'm dateing someone younger than me by more a year and a half, it gives them everyright to fire me. I'm supposed to be in the public eye as a head of Justice. How is it going to look when I'm dateing someone young enough to be my kid brother? " Kora says clearly frustraited, "Just get in the car and I'll take you back to the hotel."

Jordan had nothing to say. "Okay." He got in the car and texted Cinder, one of the only numbers he had in his phone from New York. Hey, car girl. Cinder, was it? I know this is going to sound weird but you're one of my only contacts in New York. My trip to DC was a bust. Do you think you could pick me up at the airport tomorrow around 6 PM. I really don't want to take a cab home.

Cinder texts him back, Maybe. I have a date tonight so I'll have to check when I get back from it. We can then discuss payment should I be able to do it.

Kora sighs. Gods she was so sick of being alone. The first boy that liked her and was genuinely good to her, and she ditches him for a boyband pretty. She groans and sips from her wine. This is why she was alone. Man how she wished she joined the hunters when she had the chance all those years ago.

Jordan had no idea what to do. He had no one to call. No one to go and talk to. He put it all on the line to come down here for Kora and his age made her cut him loose.He thought maybe he was finally over Chani and had found someone else. Then, it all came crashing down.
