Liam's dull look turned into one of shame and embarrassment. He looked away as tears began to fall down his mangled cheeks.

Lena slowly walked over and reached out to touch his shoulder, but Liam grabbed her wrist tightly. So tightly that Lena cried out in pain.

Allie blushed. "Thank you."

Liam's phone, which was on the table buzzed and he let go of Lena's wrist to grab it and snap it in half.

Halo quickly gripped Lena's wrist as well, focusing on drawing the pain from her into him, something he hadn't done for so long he was a bit rusty. As the familiar feeling rushed from their touching skin, he avoided a wince and took the broken phone off his friend.

Liam started sobbing and a couple doctors rushed in and used and anesthetic on him Liam slowly calm down and slumped into a sleep.

Lena stared at Liam in both fear and surprise.

Lena held out her wrist to Halo, a red hand print on it. "What's wrong with Liam?" Lena asked the doctors.

"Sergeant Cain is paralyzed from the waist down and these marks on his face are left overs from some serious burns." one of them said.
