Cinder sighs, "Enough!" She says breaking the power on him, "Thank you that'll be all." She says as she gets back to work. How could she have gotten so careless about her power. With the recent events in the city...she couldn't afford to let it get out of control like that again.

Alec stood and emptied the dustpan, approaching her slowly. "Sorry, did I do something wrong?"

Cinder shook her head, "No. It was something I did. That'll be all. Please." She says as she fiddles with the glove on her metal hand.

Cinder sighs. She then gets up and locks her shop door as a precation then sits back down. "Do the greek gods mean anything to you?"

Alec's eyes flicked warily to the door and he started analysing escape routes, heart rate elevating even as he tried to keep it down. "M-maybe, why?"

Cinder sighs, "My mom is Aphrodite. I hate the powers she had given me because then they strip anyone of their own free will. I'm sorry, but I don't think that this job is going to work out." She says sadly as she unlocks the door.

"No! Wait," Alec implored, glancing down at his hand before raising it tentatively, flames licking around his fingers. "I hate my powers too. Killed my parents. Killed my friends in the army. Brought a building down and probably killed more. You're not the only one. Please, I need this job. No-one else will employ me."

Cinder looks at him and sighs, "Alright. You can work here. And sorry about locking the door. There have been some recent attacks on demigods lately and can't be too careful. " she sayss as her fake foot makes a squeking sound. She groans, "Just a sec." She says and detaches her fake foot and places it on the bench, "Stupid foot." She says as she tinkers with it to fix the problem.

"Thank you," Alec sighed in relief. "And one of the attacks was what landed me in solitary. Hey, um, you want me to a look? It might be better than you balancing?"

"No that's ok I got it." She says as she pulls up her work stool and works on the foot, "I've been meaning to try and find a better one, but between working on the projects and getting enought buissness here, I've never had the time or money for it she says as she finishes and screws it back in place, "Probably needs the rotaiter replaced but it should hold up."
