Ben laughed and David looked at him with puppy eyes. "I can't promise to get you a dinosaur. But, I'll see what I can do about getting you a lizard." he told the child.

"Come on, boys, bed time." Tom shifted Jonathan in his arms, who curled against his chest and grabbed a fitful of his father's shirt.

"But I'm not tired." David protested. Ben lifted him up. "Well you're going to bed anyway." Ben told the boy.

Tom smiled and carried Jonathan up the stairs. He set the boy down on the bed and left in search of toothbrushes, toothpaste and Plato.

"Pyjamas, Ben!" Tom called from the bathroom.

David started jumping on his bed. "David, don't jump on the bed." Ben said as he went to the dresser holding the boys' clothes. David continued jumping on the bed.

"Daviiiid!" Jonathan whined, very tired. Plato padded in and lay down in the middle of the floor.

Ben turned. "David. I told you to stop jumping on the bed!" Ben said. David stopped and Ben turned back to the dresser. Once Ben's back was turned, David started jumping again.

Plato jumped up onto David's bed and glared up at him.

David continued jumping, not noticing the panther's glare. Ben turned around and saw David. "David! How many times do I have to tell you not to jump on your bed? Do I have to get your father involved in this?" Ben asked. Tom was way better at disciplining the boys than Ben was. David pouted and sat on his bed. Ben went to help Jonathan into his pyjamas.

Jonathan obediently got into his pyjamas, watching Plato lie across David to prevent him getting up again.

Ben pressed a kiss to Jonathan's forehead. "Go see your Daddy so he can help you brush your teeth." he told the boy before turning to David. Ben praised Plato with a pat on the head and helped and unhappy David into his pyjamas. "Go on. Go get your teeth brushed." Ben said. Tears were in David's eyes as he left the room with an angry look on his face.

Jonathan padded slowly into the bathroom and brushed his teeth before returning to the bedroom.

David nearly stomped into the bathroom.

"Did you say goodnight to Daddy Tom?" Ben asked Jonathan.

"Oops!" Jonathan ran back into th bathroom. "Goodnight, Papa!" Tom kissed the top of his head. "Goodnight, Jonathan."

David angrily brushed his teeth.

Ben smiled at what he heard and then got Jonathan's bed ready for him.
