"Come on, then, Sammy." Owen opened his arms and a blur of checked cloth flew into them. A teary-eyed toddler looked into the camera, thumb placed firmly in his mouth.

Sammy took his thumb out and spoke quietly, but the microphone picked it up. It was slightly lisped, but it was definitely, "Miss you."

Jo felt her heart break. "I miss you too." she said, her voice weak and clear evidence that she was about to cry. She looked down.

Jo looked up with tears in her eyes. She blew a kiss to Sammy.

Sammy scrabbled at the screen before Dean appeared onscreen as well, picking his brother up and carrying him away, not breaking his facade all the time Sam cried into his shoulder.
