Tom accepted the card graciously and smoothly removed his own from a not often used leather card case embossed with 'T.W.'"The same goes for you." He smiled and continued in French. " Mes coordonnées d'affaires sont sur cette carte. Permettez-moi de savoir si je peux faire quelque chose pour vous." His accent was immaculate as he intoned the phase fluently.

"Vous êtes trop gentil monsieur Whittaker. Merci beaucoup. Je vais rester en contact si je peux." Christine said softly with a smile. "Vous aurez à venir me rendre visite à Paris quelque temps, je vais vous offrir le meilleur vin et de la nourriture."

Tom inclined his head. "Merci, mademoiselle. S'il vous plaît, il n'y a aucun problème. Votre chant était belle."

"Vous êtes beaucoup plus gentil que la plupart des messieurs que je rencontre. Il est tout à fait charmant. Et merci pour le compliment. Si jamais vous voulez me vient à chanter, s'il vous plaît ne pas hésiter à demander. J'aime chanter." Christine said, her smile was bright and happy.

"Mr. Whittaker, we'd be very happy if you joined us for a celebration to commemorate the opening night. It'll be later tonight." one of the managers said.

Christine looked at Tom hopefully. She loved talking with him and hoped he would accept.

Tom slipped his smartphone from an inside pocket and waited for the technology to grant him access. A second later it did so, and he brought up that day's schedule. "I had a meeting," he confessed. "But that's just been cancelled." He swiped out a short message to his secretary before stowing away the phone. "So yes. I am able to come."

"Wonderful!" one of the managers said and handed him an invitation.

Christine smiled. "I'll see you there Monsieur Whittaker." she said before disappearing into her dressing room.

"The party is formal." the second manager told Tom.

Tom accepted the invitation and stowed it in a pocket, nodding to Christine as she left.

The managers lead Tom out from behind the stage.

Later that evening, a long white limo pulled up to the entrance of the high class party. Christine stepped out in a long champagne dress. Her hair was tamed and pulled to the side. Her limo drove off and she turned her head to see who was coming after her.

A freshly waxed and polished black limousine rolled up outside the entrance and the chauffeur stepped out to open the door. Tom emerged, wearing a crisp suit, black jacket, tie and trousers and a neatly ironed whit shirt. Hung around his neck was a green and gold scarf, and he had a gold walking stick in his hand which was inlaid with a beautiful blue gem at the top. He didn't need it, it was mostly for show. He stood up and stepped out, looking around to orientated himself

Christine smiled when she saw Tom. She made her way over to him. "Monsieur Whittaker, it's lovely to see you again." she said to him. "Would you find it rude if I requested you to escort me inside?"

"Absolutely not, mademoiselle." Tom smiled in return, extending and arm for her to take, watching as his car drove off.

Christine took his arm. "I'm going to warn you right now, they can get a little overwhelming." she told him quietly.

"Everyone at this party. It will be the cast and their spouses or partners, the managers and their spouses. And a bunch of socialites. Now is your chance to ditch." Christine said, keeping her accented voice low.

Christine almost smiled at that. "Ensuite, je pourrais avoir besoin de vous appuyer. Je reçois toujours dépassés lors de ces événements." she said as they approached the doors.
