Liam didn't believe him but didn't object. "I want to tell you something, but you have to promise not to shut down on me, okay?"

"If you need to shut down, I'm here." he said. Liam took a deep breath before looking Halo in the eye. "Before Lena died, she sent me two videos. One was for me and one was for you." He pulled out a USB stick with a piece of tape on it that said 'Halo' on it. "She told me to give it you when it was the right time. And I think that's right now." Liam held it out the his friend.

To his credit, Halo only froze up for thirty seconds before he reached out to take it, clasping it tightly in his hand.

Halo drew away and retreated to his room to watch it; he plugged in his headphones and the USB.

The video came up and it started off as a black screen before it flickered a little and Lena could be seen.

A choked noise came from Halo's mouth and he shoved his knuckles between his teeth to stifle it, eyes already wet.

Lena, who usually looked very neat and clean, was covered in dirt and her hair was messy. She gave the camera a small smile. "Hey Halo." she said in a soft voice. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I wish I could tell you where I am, but I can't." she told him and took a shakey breath. "Tomorrow, I have to lead a troop through a danger zone and all I've been hearing is that it's a suicide mission, but the Sergeant says my team is the best." she said and a short laugh escaped her lips. "My team was the best when I had you and Liam." She looked down. "I miss you, a lot." she said quietly and then glanced up, her eyes glossy from tears. "And I love you...so much. And if I don't make it, I want you to tell Liam how much you love him, okay? He needs to know. He needs to get away from that psycho Stormie. He needs you and you need him, okay?" she said. She paused for a moment and covered her mouth as a sob came from her. Eyes squeezed shut, she looked down to compose herself. When she had, she looked back up and took a deep but shakey breath. "I'm so scared, I'm not ready to leave you and Liam behind. But if I go, just know that I'm always right here." she said and placed her hand on her chest, over where her heart should be. "Ahbuk eazizati." she whispered, blowing a kiss to the screen.

Halo's head bowed and he pushed the laptop to one side, putting his head in his hands.
