Derek rubbed his eyes. "He's gonna be okay," he sighed.

Meredith smiled. "Thank you. I'm going to check on Spengler." she said and took her hand back before making her way over to Spengler's room. "How are you doing?" she asked when she got there. She picked up his chart.

Derek watched her go, not managing to avoid Bailey's thwack this time. Honestly, was the woman stalking him?
"Better, the nurse gave me more meds for the pain," Spengler smiled.

"Good." Meredith said with a smile. "With how well you're doing, I can see you getting out of here in the next day or two. I'll have to check with Dr. Shepherd though."

Spengler nodded, then yawned. "If you don't mind, I'm gonna-" he yawned again.

"No worries. Sweet dreams." Meredith said softly, putting the chart back and left the room, flicking the light off as she went. She smiled to herself and walked to the nurses' station.

Derek wandered a bit, not having any surgeries on the board and with all his patients checked on.

Meredith made her way to the elevator, heading down to the main floor to get lunch.

Meredith glanced up and smiled softly when she saw him looking at her. She couldn't get what Spengler said out of her mind. "Spengler wanted me to thank you." she told him. "I'm sorry I didn't mention it before."
