She dried off her hands. "So now we monitor him to make sure everything turns out right?" she asked.

Derek nodded. "No problems should arise, but he'll be on observation. You're a natural for this," he smiled.

"Well you know must know my mother Ellis Grey and when your dad's Ap- a perfect example of compassion, it's hard to turn out any different." she said with a smile. "But thank you."

Derek cocked his head slightly, smiling gently. "Indeed. So, would you like to follow me around or would you like to stick with Mr. Spengler?"

Meredith's eyes wandered off to the side as she thought about her answer. "Well, if I follow you around, that could be considered stalking and I'm not a stalker. But at the same time I want know more about the infamous Dr. Shepherd." she said softly, talking it out.

"Infamous?" Derek chuckled. "Well, Bailey gave me you, and I'm saying do what you like and I won't call it stalking." His eyes twinkled merrily.

Meredith couldn't stop the grin that came to her face. "Yup. Definitely McDreamy." she whispered to herself. She looked around a bit. "I'll go check on our patient and then come find you. Sound like a plan?" she asked in a regular voice.

"Sounds like a plan," Derek smiled, turning to leave to check on his other patients.

Meredith looked up at the sky. "Thank you." she whispered before going Spengler's room to check up on him.

Derek made his way round his patients, humming happily to himself.

After checking on Spengler, she started roaming around the hospital until she saw Derek talking to one of his patients. She smiled and leaned against the wall across from the room.

Derek chuckled at something the old lady said, turning to go, but stopped short when he saw Meredith. "Oh, hey," he grinned.

Derek chuckled again. "Come on," he beckoned, leading the way to his next patient, a brain surgery recoveree. He handed her the chart, waiting expectantly with a smile tugging the corners of his lips up.

Meredith took the chart and smiled at the patient before reading off the information and smiling more. "Well, Ms. Schram, the surgery went well and by the looks of your chart and how well you're doing, you should be able to go home in the next couple days." she said softly.

Derek nodded with a smile. "Absolutely right, Doctor Grey," he praised. "And what signs would we be looking for that would show the problem manifesting itself again?"

Meredith thought for a moment. "Slurred speech, twitching in the fingers and seizures." she said.

(That's about as much doctor as I can get. xD)

"Bang on," Derek nodded, taking the chart back and hanging it on the end of the bed again. "Thank you, Ms. Schram, we'll leave you in peace now," he smiled.

Meredith smiled at the patient and turned to leave the room.

"Right, well, that's my patients seen to," Derek hummed. "Do you want to go back to Bailey or would you like to join me for a coffee?"
