Derek pressed the button for the ground floor, leaning back against the wall.

"What brought you to Seattle Grace?" Meredith asked, tilting her head a little.

"A change of scenery," he shrugged, then moved closer to her, smirking. "And the beautiful women."

She looked up at him. "The scenery if very nice." she said softly, a hint of a smile on her lips.

Derek hummed quietly, then in one movement, smashed their lips together in a heated kiss.

She leaned back against the wall of the elevator as she kissed him back, her arms finding their way around his neck.

Derek continued to kiss her almost feverishly until the elevator dinged to signal its arrival, making him pull off her. "Coffee. Right. Yes." He cleared his throat and walked out, pretending nothing had happened.

Meredith swayed a little, a shakey hand moved up to touch her lips before she quickly left the elevator after him. She pursed her lips and shoved her hands into the pockets of her lab coat.

Derek licked his lips, glancing back at her, unnoticing as he walked past the café.

"Dr. Shepherd." she said softly, a small smile spreading across her lips as she stopped in front of the cafe.

Derek jerked around and laughed at his own mistake. "Y'know," he murmured, walking back. "Given what just happened, I think it's Derek to you, Doctor Grey," he winked, then walked ahead to the counter.

"Right, nothing," Derek cleared his throat again. "What do you take?" he asked, indicating the coffee.

Meredith let out a soft laugh and bumped shoulders with him. "Don't worry. It's our little secret." she whispered and grabbed a coffee and a couple cream before walking over to a table.

Derek paid and followed, sitting down opposite her. He stirred his coffee, not making eye contact.
