"I don't have to. You have no say," he said and kissed her head. "See you in a few days." He leaned down and grabbed his bag before smiling at her and heading for his car.

Melissa watched him go before heading to his house and unlocking the door and going inside

Marcus smiles, and the waitress asks if they would like to order.  Marcus turns to her, "You all set M'lady?"

"Oh, yes. I'll have your Pad Thai." Mattie said.

Marcus smiles, "Ill have the same and a water if you please." The waitress nods and heads out to get the food and drinks.

Mattie smiled. "So, how's work?" she asked.

Marcus shrugs, "Day job or the night life?"

[Sofie Berry]

"Start with the day job and move to night life," Mattie said, smiling.

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus chuckles, "Well, so far the history classes seem to be going well. The students seem to be connecting well with the material. As for the night life, no major calls as of late. A dead loved one trying to reconnect here and there, but nothing real note worthy yet. But enough about my boring life. How have you been adjusting to Chicago?"

[Sofie Berry]

"Slowly. It's different than New York but somehow the same." Mattie replied.

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus smiles, "Different how?"

[Sofie Berry]

"It's a lot... buffer. Scarier almost." Mattie admitted.

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus chuckles, "Yeah. A bit like a pit bull. Comes off as being a big and intimidating, and while it can be unpredictable, it has its sweeter sides." He says smiling at her as their food came in.

Mattie nodded in agreement and turned to watch their food come.

Marcus thanks the waiter, "I cant remember the last time I actually went out to eat."

"I can. It was with you." Mattie said before she took a bite of her food.

Marcus smiles and sighs, "Listen, I was planning on waiting until after but I don't think I can wait that long."

[Sofie Berry]

Mattie frowned lightly. "Wait? For what?"

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus gets up and walks over to her and kneels down in front of her, "M'lady. I knew you were royalty the day I saw you in New York. And even though you didn't have to, you went through hell, so to speak, with me and for me. I know this is probably extremely selfish of me, but I don't think that I could ever have someone as smart, and funny, and someone who can call me on my shit, when I'm being stupid. So, Mattie Young, My Queen, M'lady," He says pulling out a ring, "Will you marry me?"

Mattie gasped, her hand flying to cover her mouth for a second. "Marcus..." she said and tears came to her eyes. She was speechless so she nodded. Finally finding her voice, she spoke, "Yes, I'll marry you."

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus smiles, feeling like he could cry himself as he slides the ring on her finger and kisses her, "Up to you. We can either, finish dinner here, or get these to go, and sit at home with a movie and fluffy pajamas?"

"I like the latter," she replied, giggling and leaning in to kiss him.

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus smiles kissing back then kisses, her hand, "Then it shall be done." He says with a smile as they wait for the waiter to come back with to go boxes and the check.

She couldn't take her eyes off of him. "I love you." she whispered.

[Dawn Haven]

Marcus smiled, "I love you too." he whispers back just as he pays the bill and they pack up their food. He then walks over to her side and holds out his hand. "M'lady"
