"Break a leg!" Lidija said softly before running gracefully off to watch Pietro's first dance of the night from the wings.

Pietro grinned but then wiped his face free of emotion, raising up on his toes and relaxing and tensing until his cue music started.

Lidija nodded to a few of the other dancers as she made her way to her usual place in the wings where she could see all but not be seen herself. The theatre was almost always full but, tonight being the first night of the performance, Lidija didn't think she could see a single spare seat.

Pietro barely glanced at the audience, but he knew, from fifteen years on the stage, that it would be a full house. Plus the noise from the audience chattering beforehand could be heard backstage, and that always fared good, even if no-one could hear themselves think. The dance was not difficult, but it looked stunning from the stage. All the reviews had said that. He finished with a flourish and made his exit at the end of the scene, barely breathing any harder, though he accepted a glass of water from a nervous stagehand, and stood in the wings to watch his sister's entrance.

Lidija watched as Pietro entered and started to dance. Despite knowing every move and sequence like the back of her hand, she was once again struck by the beauty of it. She smiled proudly as Pietro finished perfectly, and exited from the other side. Her part was drawing close and she could feel her beating loudly with anticipation. She took a deep breath as she heard her cue, but as soon as she was on stage, she became perfectly calm, oblivious to anything but the music and the ballet.

Pietro observed the dancers, but of course, he was focused on his sister as she danced around Elena, who was this season's Nurse. He watched little Klara as she danced as Young Juliet, accepting his mask for the upcoming number, Alexei and Vladimir appearing by his side as Mercutio and Benvolio, also in masks. He nodded to the two of them, then listened for their cue.

Lidija posed at the end of dance with the vague feeling of satisfaction she always got from a dance well done. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Klara's flushed and excited face, bringing her back to her and Pietro's first time on the stage, but she supressed the smile, keeping her face completely professional.

Pietro grinned slightly, but wiped his face as he heard their cue, dancing easily through Masks and then transitioning into Dance of the Knights. Both through his always-present concern for her and his character's eyes, Pietro's gaze rarely left Lidija, even as he danced.

Lidija's eyes were also on Pietro as the Dance of the Knights drew to a close. She could feel the sound of the music and the dancers' feet echoing through her body as it came to her favourite solo part of the ballet- Juliet's Variation

Pietro watched intently as his sister's first solo dance's music swelled and slowed after the rapid dance beforehand. He watched Alexei prepare for his buffoonish dance in the wings opposite where he was stood.

Lidija smiled, both as Juliet and herself. She liked that dance but couldn't wait for it to end, because next was the Madrigal, Pietro and her's first dance together.

Pietro watched as Alexei, costumed up as Mercutio, danced onstage to perform his mood-livening dance. But he couldn't wait for it to end, although he hid his impatience, as he wanted to dance with Lidija, their Madrigal, the first dance of the evening together.

Lidija smiled slightly as she took 'Romeo's hand. It was a difficult piece, full of lifts but they had performed it many times before.

Pietro kept his composure like the professional he was, lifting Lidija into the first of many such movements, arm muscles taking very little strain due to their size, tone, and 'Juliet's lithe form.

Lidija extended her limbs gracefully in the air, feeling completely safe in Pietro's strong arms. She danced with others sometimes but Pietro was her main partner (on his insistence) and it was never quite the same.

Pietro had an inward smirk playing on his face as he saw the indignant face of Viktor, who played Paris, as he stole back his sister. But the dance was over all to soon and he watched Lidija run offstage, as was her cue, his hand trailing after her.

Lidija reached the wings and watched all the dancers depart. She stepped onto the stage again, looking around as if for a lost kerchief, before jumping as Pietro emerged from Stage Right and placing his hands on her waist.

Pietro crept in from Stage Right and danced for a few seconds with his sister before running off as Elena bustled on to inform 'Juliet' that she needed to come to bed.

Lidija handled the transaction from one dance to the next with ease. She watched as Elena disappeared off stage, turning back to Pietro.

Pietro returned to the stage and began to dance once more, before being shoved off to the side by Lidija as more Capulets arrived.

Pietro returned to the stage once again, this time without his mask, and danced once more. He moved off to the side as the Capulets, including Tybalt, returned, though he didn't exit as Tybalt advanced. He put up a hand to hide his face from Tybalt, turning infuriatingly, but Tybalt wrenched it away and stepped back in shock.

Lidija danced between Tyrant and Romeo, attempting to stop the inevitable fight.

Pietro stepped back heavily as Viktor shoved him, harder than required, but he didn't fight back as he was shoved twice more before Lord Capulet stepped in.
