Justin walked into the courtroom and sat down beside Jenna. He was also in a black suit and tie. It was either that or his pink suit and he figured his "Great Gatsby" look wasn't a good image for court, despite how much the metaphor might help the case. Plus, he didn't want to be flashy. He figured it was best not to take that chance.

"Should I try and play the jealousy angle when asked about Amy because she had feelings for me before?" Justin whispered quickly, hoping he could get an answer before the judge called for order.

Killian shakes his head, "No. Stick to the plan. We will only use that as a last resort." The judge then calls for order. And calls the defense to make their opening statement.

(Not good at being a lawyer so just imagine it was an awesome opening statement

Seth smiles as his guy steps up, "My client isn't the real criminal here. Need I remind the court that not only had Miss Haven knowingly hid when she had every opportunity to report my client. Plus need I remind the court that most of these attacks were carried out by one Miss Amy here, and Mr Henderson here even took part in some of these acts. So I ask the court, If my client is guilty of defending himself, then shouldn't the others be more guilty for initiating the need for it?"

the judge then tells the prosecution to call their first person to the stand, with a sneaky grin Seth's lawyer calls Dawn to the stand, "Oh no. this is bad." says Killian.

Justin raised an eyebrow at the two. They were turning on each other. This was going to work in their favor. But why would they not call him to the stand after accusing him of helping commit these acts?

Killian frowns but lets it play out as Dawn is called to the stand and sworn in. She is helped into the seat then the prosecution steps forward, "Miss Haven. You were previously a resident of California, were you not?" Dawn nods "Yes I was."
"Was? Meaning you are no longer living there?" Dawn frowns, "Correct."
"What made you move there?"
"Things in California, weren't working out for me since I was kidnapped." Dawn then takes a deep breath, "Plus, Justin and I wanted to live closer to each other." The prosecution smiles, "And how long have you known Mr. Henderson?"
"Since we were kids. We used to date."
"Were you aware he was with someone already?"
Dawn sighs, "Yes, but..."
"So you were still obsessing over your childhood sweetheart, that you knew was seeing someone and that they had a kid on the way? You knowingly took him from someone else?" The prosecution says with a smile, while Dawn didn't know what to say. She loved Justin, but still felt like she took him from the life he had already set up.

Nathaniel bit his lip before standing up "Objection. What relevance does this have to the case at hand?"
